Most of us enjoy a relaxing summer day out on the driveway with a hose in one hand, and a scrub in the other. Yes.. I’m talking about giving your car the old scrub-a-dub-dub. It’s basically one of those things comparable to bbq-ing or making a fire. It’s a manliest man thing. This gives us the satisfaction of taking care of our possession and pride. It’s actually a good thing to be very keen in taking care of your car by yourself and making it look clean all the time. But there are times when a car, even though it’s your baby, even if you want the owner’s pride & satisfaction of taking care of it, needs some expert care to look and feel its’ best. Every car owner loves to see their car looking clean and sparkly.. YES.. Sparkly. So if you want to maintain the best shine possible you need to not only wash your car on your own time, but also take it to an automotive detailer once in a while to ensure your car is properly cleaned.

Car detailing is a very important aspect of automotive maintenance that will improve your car’s look and overall value a great deal. Detailing involves the process of a thorough cleaning, polishing and waxing of your car by experts using appropriate machines. By using specific machinery and products, detailers provide a service that we cannot do on our own. As much as we can clean our car in the driveway, a ceramic coating for cars shop can do a much better job in less time.

Car detailing can be divided into three portions. They are exterior detailing, interior detailing and engine detailing. An exterior detailing will clean and polish the externals of a car like doors, wheels, rims, bonnet, etc. An interior detailing will involve cleaning the interiors of a car like seats, dashboard, steering wheel, etc. And an engine detailing will include cleaning and polishing the engine so that there is no dust or dirt, which will ensure that your car runs better.

So when your car comes out of a detailing it will look its best and you’ll feel better driving it. Unfortunately a home-cleaning fails to offer such an impeccable gloss to your car and if you’re not careful you may damage your vehicle by peeling off some paint or making little scratches. So once in a while it’s suggested you swing by a professional auto detailing shop to ensure the overall maintenance of you vehicle. Now for people who are wondering about finding a good car detailing shop, there are plenty in every city. Just make sure to do your research to find the best value for your dollar.

How to Use Different Cleaning Machines for Auto Detailing

Auto detailing can be a more difficult and complex process than what its simple name implies. Many car washing companies make use of multiple cleaning machines for carrying out this cleaning task.

A vehicle has various types of surfaces inside and outside with varying levels of hardness. One cannot use a single cleaning machine to clean all types of surfaces. This article deals with the effective use of different types of cleaning machines, namely carpet cleaners, pressure washers, and steam cleaners, when auto detailing.

Carpet Cleaners
Carpet cleaning machines are not suitable for cleaning hard surfaces. For that reason, these are used only for cleaning the soft interior surfaces of vehicles. Carpet cleaners work by injecting a solution that contains water and a cleaning agent into mats, carpets and seat upholstery.

Surfaces can also be pretreated with a cleaning solution, which is then allowed some time to soak in. This allows the solution to work on the surface and break or weaken the bond between the surface and dirt. The next step is agitation of the surface.

Carpet cleaning machines are equipped with wands, which operators use to agitate and remove dirt and grime from deep within surfaces. When finished, the carpet cleaning machine then extracts the dirt residue, leaving the surface clean.

One important thing to note when using carpet cleaning machines for auto detailing is to try separate carpet and upholstery wands. Using separate wands would make the cleaning process faster and more efficient.

Heated carpet cleaners are best suited for auto detailing. Modern carpet cleaning equipment can provide an output temperature of 210°F. It would be better to use machines equipped with low flow technology, which allows carpets to dry in as little as two hours. Both these features help considerably in reducing the drying time of the mats, carpets and seat upholstery surfaces.
